Description

Read more about our current batch of English wines available. The range includes delightful English sparkling wine, English sparkling rosé, English white wine and English red wine.

Chartham Pinot Noir: This light and fresh wine’s flavour delivers red cherry, red plum and a light five spice with gentle tannins and a bright finish. The style of wine makes it a refreshing aperitif, suit lightly spiced dishes or an ideal companion to charcuterie, especially meats like carpaccio, and creamy cheeses.

Biddenden Ortega: This is a tremendously good value English wine from Kent’s oldest vineyard. Off dry, fruity, displaying fresh aromas of apple and grapefruit. Semi-aromatic on the nose, displays appealing fresh aromas of green apple, grapefruit, cut grass and flora, whilst the palate is medium bodied, crisp, characterful and deliciously fruity. Delicious when served as an aperitif, this refreshing white would also pair well with lightly spicy dishes and simple seafood.

Hidden Spring Bacchus: This English wine recently won a gold medal at the WineGB awards. The wine has a beautiful aromatic character delivering lime, green apple and honeysuckle whilst the palate offers more jasmine and some tropical fruit notes. In addition, the palate is dry, fresh and also rounded and textured. There is a fine harmony of oak spice and creaminess through lees work. The oak is well integrated and allows the fruit to come through. It can definitely be drunk now but this has a potential to age over the next 3 to 5 years.

Ashling Park Cuvée: This English wine has won the 2020 WineGB Sparkling Wine Trophy and it really deserves that accolade. The aromatics display plenty of autolytic characters, biscuit, brioche, plus citrus notes and apple and honey. There is a depth to the aromatics not often found which promises a fulsome palate and long finish. On the palate there is the expected depth but great harmony and a fine mousse. It is a wine to be savoured and sipped and will partner many dishes with its combination of umami and fruit flavours. Try with a rich creamy chicken or guinea fowl dish and experience the wonderful combination of flavours, the wine working to open up the food and the fresh finish of the wine on your palate.

Bolney Classic Cuvée: The wine has a clean fresh nose with a distinct brioche and baked bread note with hints of roasted hazelnuts. The palate is medium weight, with a green apple acidity balanced by umami savouriness, yellow apple fruit and a touch of cranberry. It is long and harmonious with a gentle, persistent mousse.

Oxney Sparkling Rosé: This organic English sparkling rosé is a delicious, fresh, dry, gently-foaming wine. One can find delicate aromas of raspberry, peach and lemon on the nose and palate along with a light lees richness. This wine delivers a fresh and youthful mouthful to anyone who drinks it.

Whitehall Vineyard Bacchus 2019: Our first offering from Wiltshire and proves that good quality wines can be grown across the south of England. We have selected the 2019 Bacchus for its true varietal expression. This is one of the more floral styles delivery elderflower and honeysuckle on the nose but with a grapefruit and green apple palate. It is a real palate freshener with bright acidity balanced by lush fruit density. We are not the only tasters to enjoy the wine. The wine received a Gold award from the IEWA (Independent English Wine Awards).

Albury Estate Vineyard Blanc de Blancs: Albury Vineyard produces a range of wines which deliver different styles, from simple easy going to rich dry and complex. The wine is very pale in appearance with a fresh nose carrying aromas of tropical fruit, creme patisserie, lime and nuts. It is very inviting and leads to a light fresh palate, ideal for any celebratory drink, with a touch of brioche, citrus fruits and long poised finish. Sometimes you just want to enjoy a glad of good quality wine delivering the flavours of summer and they are right here in this reviving wine

Simpsons Gravel Castle Chardonnay 2020: Simpsons Gravel Castle Chardonnay continues to grow in popularity, changing people’s perceptions of English still wines, and garnering favourable reviews. We feel the 2020 version is a very attractive representation of what is widely considered a great vintage for English wines. The wine has an attractive, pristine nose offering notes of lemon zest, fresh ripe pear and butter-spread, fresh bread with a touch of white peach. The palate is bright with crisp acidity delineating the focused structure around which the flavours of citrus, white peach, lees, butter and green apple tumble. This is a youthful, elegant wine with a sense of drive and purpose and promising a great future of vinous pleasure

Note: Due to the small-batch artisanal nature of our wines; It’s possible that occasionally we may have to substitute a wine if it’s out of stock. But rest assured, it will be a wine of similar quality, chosen by our Master of Wine – it’s all part of the adventure!
