Each Elven Glass Mirror is handmade with care in our studio gallery by Teresa, it can take over 100 individual, handcrafted processes and up to four days to make a Mirror depending on its design and size. This ensures that each mirror is an individual work of art, as a result very slight variances will occur from time to time between mirrors of the same design. These subtle variances are part of the joy of owning a unique handmade mirror and should not give any cause for concern.

Smooth ground edge glass mirror supplied with hanging fittings installed, each mirror is made using modern materials and comes with a safety backing fitted to help prevent splintering in case of an accident. When finished your mirror’s hanging fittings are tested for shear strength to more than five times the mirror’s weight, the test result is written on the back of the mirror next to the hanger plate or subframe and the number shown next to the two opposing arrows represents the force applied in kilograms.

Hanging Your Mirror:

Your mirror will arrive with suitable hangers attached, in the case of the small to medium size mirrors they will be fitted with a single metal hanger. Our larger mirrors will arrive fitted with an aluminium subframe to which two adjustable hangers will be attached, the adjustable hangers will allow adjustment for getting your mirror level. For all hanging fittings, we recommend the use of plastic wall plugs and screws for solid walls and appropriate expanding plugs for cavity walls. In all instances, the wall fixing must be of adequate size for the weight of the mirror being hung.

Caring for your mirror correctly is important in maintaining its appearance, in order to do this we recommend the following:

*Wash your mirror with lukewarm water and a small amount of washing-up liquid on a soft cloth or sponge (DO NOT immerse your mirror in water or use abrasive pads or cleaners)

Dry your mirror with a soft, lint-free towel (DO NOT dry your mirror on heaters or radiators)

*Should you wish to polish your mirror we recommend using an acid-free, wax-free glass cleaner or furniture polish such as Pledge Classic Universal Polish (We use it in our studio, we have no affiliation to nor are we sponsored by pledge) Use two lint-free cloths, apply a small amount of cleaner/polish with one and a few minutes later buff to a shine with the other.

We offer free delivery to mainland UK only.

Deliveries to the Islands, Highlands, and Northern Island will, unfortunately, incur an additional nominal charge.

Deliveries to the rest of the world will be charged at the relevant shipping/freight rates that apply, please contact us for a shipping quote for your order. Any import taxes and duties are the responsibility of the buyer.

All our items are packed very carefully using, where practicable eco-packaging that is made from recycled material or can be recycled, we also re-use our inbound packaging as much as is possible, however in some instances we have no alternative but to use bubble wrap to protect the item. Should you receive your item wrapped in bubble wrap please re-use it if possible or dispose of it responsibly.
